Hamza Sani Mungadi

I was born and grew up in Mungadi town of northern part of Nigeria. I got my basic education from kebbi State and I completed my Bsc in mathematics at kebbi State University of science and Technology Aliero, Nigeria with a cumulative grade point average of 4.29 on a 5.00 scale. I am a silver medallist of inter-universities mathematics competition organised by National Mathematical Centre Abuja, Nigeria in 2015. After I completed my one year national service I was retained as a Graduate Assistant in the department of Mathematics in the university.

Moreover, because of my interest to remain in an academic environment, I co-authored a book with the title- “Fields and Vector Spaces” in 2020. The book covers  some basic elements of Linear Algebra and Functional Analysis.

After gaining some information about the IMM programme from my instructor back home and one of the first batch of the IMM students from my country, I started thinking that it may be a good place for me to pursue my education. And now after having some experience in the programme, I can say that was the right thought.

So far at IMM, I am learning what mathematics itself really is. I appreciate the way the programme is carefully designed. I believe at the end of the programme we will have a very strong theoretical background in the courses we are engaged in, which, of course, will play a great role in the future contribution we can make to the scientifics world.

One good thing about the IMM programme is that it is coordinated and taught by prestigious international faculty and tutors coming from top universities worldwide and they are always available to help.

My interest is to do a PhD in Mathematics from an international university, become a successful mathematician and do research work at an advanced level and serve in the university as a lecturer in order to share my knowledge and experiences, and hopefully, this IMM program will give me a direction towards that.

Once again my deepest gratitude  to all IMM staff and  ICTP for being my sponsor throughout the programme. I am truly in debt to them and always remember them very kindly.
