I have been studying Mathematics since 2011. I earned my bachelor’s degree in 2014 and my master’s degree in 2016, both at Università di Camerino. Subsequently, I started a Ph.D. at Università di Firenze. I successfully defended my thesis on March 6, 2020.

How would you define your field of study? What is your vision about it? Which are the topics you're most passionate about?

I am working in the field of Differential Geometry. My research activity lies in three closely interrelated areas: Riemannian Geometry, non-Kähler Hermitian Geometry and Lie Theory. More specifically, I am mainly interested in (local) Lie group actions on manifolds and on Riemannian (resp. Hermitian) metrics with large isometry groups.

How has your experience been so far with the IMM? Why did you accept to collaborate on this programme?

I accepted to join this project because I think that teaching is one of the most important activity for a mathematician. We have the responsibility to train young people, regardless of who they are or where they came from. I also think that this is an essential step for me towards becoming a complete mathematician.

What is your teaching philosophy? What would you like to transmit to your students? How do you motivate them?

During my lectures, I encourage the students to ask questions freely. I appreciate their active participation and I believe that everyone should contribute in order to maintain a positive atmosphere. I also often stay and talk with them about their questions at the end of the lectures because I would like my students to know we can really learn from each other.
